FORT WORTH (December 23, 2010) – Fort Worth residents might consider transit as an option to driving to the 2010 Bell Helicopter Armed Services Bowl that will be held this year at SMU in Dallas on Dec. 30, instead of at TCU where the game has traditionally been played.
A Trinity Railway Express (TRE) regional pass (Dallas System pass if purchased at CentrePort Station) will cover the train ride and transfer to DART light rail to Mockingbird Station where SMU will run its free Mustang Express shuttle service to and from SMU’s Ford Stadium every 20 minutes.
To arrive in time for the 11 a.m. kick-off, the latest TRE train to take from downtown Fort Worth is the 8:27 a.m. from T&P Station or the 8:31 a.m. departure from the Intermodal Transportation Center. This train allows for a connection to the 9:34 a.m. northbound Red Line train that arrives at Mockingbird Station at 9:51 a.m. with ample time to catch a Mustang Express shuttle from Mockingbird Station to SMU.
Fort Worth area residents may also catch this TRE train at any other Tarrant or Dallas County station. Check TRE schedules for departure times.
