New director joins The T board

FORT WORTH (January 20, 2010) – The T announced at its board meeting today that the Tarrant County Commissioners Court has appointed Jeffrey Ritter to the board of directors of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T).

Ritter will replace Jeane Grisham, a member of the board since November 2006, who also served on its Mobility Impaired Transportation Services Advisory Committee (MITSAC).  A resolution of appreciation for her dedicated service was approved at today’s board meeting.

Ritter is professor of computer/technology at Brookhaven College, a licensed realtor and professional musician and has served as a member of The T’s customer oversight view committee since 2004.

A resident of Richland Hills, Ritter was Mayor Pro Tem and the city’s representative to the North Texas Council of Governments in 2006.

He earned a bachelor of music education from Texas Wesleyan and master’s degrees in music education and education administration from the University of North Texas.  He holds advanced computer technology and mid-management/principal teaching certifications.

“We believe Jeffrey Ritter’s credentials, his varied experiences interacting in our community, and his interest in the enhancement of public transportation for this area will benefit The T as we move forward in our strategic planning for the future.”

“At the same time, we will miss Jeane Grisham who gave of her time and energy to the benefit of The T and its member cities,” said Ruddell.
