OBTAINING A T REDUCED FARE PHOTO ID

How to obtain a T Reduced Fare Photo ID for persons with disabilities:
Visit one of the T approved certifying agencies. Take your Medicare insurance card, current Social Security or Veterans benefits award letter to the certifying agency as your proof of disability. A representative will complete and sign a green reduced fare registration card.  Persons with disabilities holding a current Medicare card do not need to be certified by one of the approved certifying agencies.  Bring your Medicare card and a valid State of Texas ID or Drivers License with a picture to the address listed below to obtain your reduced fare photo identification card.

Bring the approved reduced fare registration card to the T’s information kiosk at the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) at 1001 Jones Street, or to The T’s administration office at 1600 E. Lancaster Avenue to obtain a reduced fare photo identification card.

Reduced fare photo identification cards cost $2.00. If you lose or misplace your reduced fare photo identification card a $2.00 fee will be charged to replace the card. Cards will be replaced if you are in the current database and the card has not expired.

Reduced fare identification cards are valid for six-month, one- or two- years. When your card expires you will need to re-qualify with a certifying agency and obtain a new green reduced fare registration card.

How to obtain a T Reduced Fare Photo ID for senior citizens:
Persons 65 years of age and older qualify for a lifetime reduced fare photo identification card.

To obtain a lifetime reduced fare photo identification card bring proof of age (a valid State of Texas ID, Drivers License, Medicare card or birth certificate).

Bring your proof of age to The T’s information kiosk at the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) at 1001 Jones Street, or to The T’s administration office at 1600 E. Lancaster Avenue.

Reduced fare photo identification cards cost $2.00. If you lose or misplace your reduced fare photo identification card a $2.00 fee will be charged to replace the card. Reduced fare photo identification cards are lifetime cards and never expire.

How to obtain a T Reduced Fare Photo ID for students:
Persons between the ages twelve through eighteen, and currently enrolled in a middle, high or alternative school are eligible for a reduced fare photo identification card.

To obtain a reduced fare photo identification card for a student, bring a transcript or report card for the current school year to the T’s information kiosk at the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) at 1001 Jones Street, or to The T’s administration office at 1600 E. Lancaster Avenue. If report cards have not been distributed yet for the current school year, a letter on the school letterhead and dated for the current school year will be accepted.

Reduced fare photo identification cards for students cost $2.00. A $2.00 fee is also charged to replace lost or stolen cards.

Reduce fare photo identification cards for students are valid for one year, from September 1, to August 31, of the following year.
