Students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities are eligible for reduced fares. Simply get a reduced fare ID card, following the procedures noted.

Persons With Disabilities

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>For Persons with Disabilities</h1>

To obtain a reduced fare identification card, persons with disabilities should bring a Medicare card, current Social Security benefits award letter, or VA benefits award letter and a valid State of Texas ID or driver’s license with a picture, or a VA ID card with “Service Connected” written under the picture, to one of the addresses listed below to obtain a reduced fare identification card.

Persons with disabilities who do not meet these criteria must visit one of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority’s approved certifying agencies to obtain a completed and signed green reduced fare registration card, which should be taken to one of the addresses listed below to obtain a reduced fare identification card.

To obtain a reduced fare photo identification card, bring the approved reduced fare registration card to the FWTA information kiosk at one of the following downtown locations:

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>Reduced Fare Photo Cost</h1>

Reduced fare photo identification cards cost $2.00. If you lose or misplace your reduced fare photo identification card, a $2.00 fee will be charged to replace the card. Cards will be replaced if you are in the current database and the card has not expired.

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>Renewing</h1>

Reduced fare identification cards are valid for six months, one or two years. When your card expires you will need to re-qualify with a certifying agency and obtain a new green reduced fare registration card.

Students

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>For Students</h1>

<h4>Middle or High School</h4>
Persons between the ages of twelve through eighteen, and currently enrolled in a middle, high or alternative school are eligible for a reduced fare photo identification card. To obtain a reduced fare photo identification card for a student, bring a transcript or report card for the current school year to the FWTA information kiosk at the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) or to the FWTA Customer Service Center. If report cards have not been distributed yet for the current school year, a letter on the school letterhead and dated for the current school year will be accepted.

<h4>College or Trade School</h4>
Individual college or trade school students who attend school in Tarrant County are eligible to purchase reduced fares if they have a T reduced fare ID card. To obtain a reduced fare photo ID card, the student must be enrolled in a college, university, or trade school located within Tarrant County. Bring a current valid student ID card and proof of current enrollment to the FWTA information kiosk at the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) or to the FWTA Customer Service Center to purchase a reduced fare photo identification card.

Reduced fare photo identification cards for students cost $2.00. A $2.00 fee is also charged to replace lost or stolen cards.

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>Renewing</h1>

Reduced fare photo identification cards for students are valid for one year, from August 1 to July 31 of the following year. When your card expires, you will need to renew it by bringing in your current valid student ID card. The new reduced ID card will cost $2.00.

Senior Citizens

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>For Senior Citizens</h1>

Persons 65 years of age and older qualify for a lifetime reduced fare photo identification card.

To obtain a lifetime reduced fare photo identification card bring proof of age (a valid State of Texas ID, Driver’s License, Medicare card or birth certificate) to a location listed below.
