About Reduced Fares

Youth, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities are eligible for reduced fares. Simply get a reduced fare ID card, following the procedures noted.

Persons With Disabilities

For Persons with Disabilities

To obtain a reduced fare identification card, persons with disabilities should bring a Medicare card, current Social Security benefits award letter, or VA benefits award letter and a valid State of Texas ID or driver’s license with a picture, or a VA ID card with “Service Connected” written under the picture, to one of the addresses listed below to obtain a reduced fare identification card.

Persons with disabilities who do not meet these criteria must visit one of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority’s approved certifying agencies to obtain a completed and signed green reduced fare registration card, which should be taken to one of the addresses listed below to obtain a reduced fare identification card.

To obtain a reduced fare photo identification card, bring the approved reduced fare registration card to the FWTA information kiosk at one of the following downtown locations:

Reduced Fare Photo Cost

Reduced fare photo identification cards cost $2.00. If you lose or misplace your reduced fare photo identification card, a $10.00 fee will be charged to replace the card. Cards will be replaced if you are in the current database and the card has not expired.

Renewing

Reduced fare identification cards are valid for six months, one or two years. When your card expires you will need to re-qualify with a certifying agency and obtain a new green reduced fare registration card.

Youth

Youth (ages 5–19)

Effective August 13, 2017, persons between the ages of 5 and 19 are eligible for a reduced fare of $1 one way. Tickets can be purchased at the kiosk at the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC), the FWTA Customer Service Center or on the bus. A youth can purchase a day pass for $2.50.

Reduced Fare Photo Cost

Reduced fare photo identification cards for youth cost $2.00. A $10.00 fee is also charged to replace lost or stolen cards.

Replacement Card $10.00

Renewing

Reduced fare photo identification cards for youth are valid for one year, from August 1 to July 31 of the following year. When your card expires, you will need to renew it by bringing in your current valid ID card.

Senior Citizens

For Senior Citizens

Persons 65 years of age and older qualify for a lifetime reduced fare photo identification card.

To obtain a lifetime reduced fare photo identification card bring proof of age (a valid State of Texas ID, Driver’s License, Medicare card or birth certificate) to a location listed below.
