The T’s Silver Anniversary contest to award 25-year T premium transit pass
*Text-to-Win contest through May 31 is part of The T’s extended celebration of its 25 years in public transportation
FORT WORTH (January 26, 2009) – The T will present a 25-year T premium transit pass in June to a randomly selected customer as the grand prize in its Silver Anniversary Text-to-Win contest.
To enter, people may text the word “win” to 555999 for the chance to win a prize through May 31. The grand prize will be a 25-year T premium transit pass that covers The T’s bus services and the Trinity Railway Express. The winner will be announced and awarded in June.
Other prizes that will be distributed to Text-to-Win entrants over the contest period include transit passes for a day or week on The T and assorted retail coupons.
“The T is hosting Silver Anniversary activities for an extended period to celebrate record-breaking ridership, service expansion and to thank our customers and the greater Fort Worth community for their role in helping to make public transportation successful in Tarrant County,” said T President Dick Ruddell. “We hope the incentive of winning a 25-year transit pass will emphasize the importance of expanded public transportation for this area in the future,” he said.
Ridership on The T has nearly doubled – from 5.2 to nearly 9 million annual passenger trips -- since the creation of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority by city voters on November 8, 1983.
